Topic: “Problem? What problem?” A closer look at concern development strategies
Synopsis: As RIA practitioners, many of us might have encountered caregivers who do not have concerns of their own, but approach us due to someone else’s concern. This might include instances where a preschool teacher raises a concern with parents, or the LSEd highlights an issue to the teacher.
How do we use the RIA concern development strategies with caregivers who don’t seem to see a problem?
Our next RIA CONNECT session will delve deeper into invitational theory and share actionable tips on how you can “develop a concern” in the caregiver and set goals collaboratively, to achieve optimal child outcomes.
RIA CONNECT is a series of teaching and drop-in sessions for those who have attended RIA training workshops. These quarterly sessions give us a chance to come together to discuss and reflect on our practice and our work with the families or another professionals whom we work with.
